A number of bridges cross the Erie Canal, but there is only one way to go underneath it, and that is Culvert Road Medina Ny. Otherwise known as the Medina Culvert, The tunnel that passes underneath the Erie Canal was built in 1823 the arch clearance is just 7-feet-6-inches tall. There is water constanly dripping from the ceiling of the tunnel, This is cause by the water in the canal that finds its way though the crevices of the rock. The Culvert is located just east of Medina off of Route 31 or off of Route 104, Which is about half way between Niagara Falls and Rochester Ny.
